Iran-backed Houthis shell a residential neighborhood in Taiz

The Iran-backed Houthi targeted, on Friday evening, a densely populated neighborhood in the city of Taiz (southwest of Yemen), with a number of mortar shells, as part of their ongoing violations of the UN truce.

Local sources said that a number of Houthi mortar shells fell in the inhabited Al-Shammasi neighborhood in the city of Taiz.

According to the sources, the sound of explosions was heard to different parts of the city.

The sources stated that the extent of material damage and human losses due to artillery shelling was not known until now.

This comes in light of the entry into force of the third phase of the UN truce, which was renewed on the second of August and until the second of next October.
