Fire breaks out at a camp for the IDPs in Marib

A fire broke out in the airport camp, "Bin Aboud", in the center of the city of Marib, in eastern Yemen, and destroyed 12 houses for the IDPs, in continuous fire incidents in the camps in the governorate.

"The houses that were destroyed by the fire consisted of "fabric tents and sticks of wood". The Executive Unit for IDP Camps Management in the governorate said on Tuesday.

"The incident came days after a similar fire in the same camp, which led to the burning of one of the tents, the death of a child and the injury of two of her sisters". The Unit added in a statement.

Marib hosts more than two million and two hundred thousand IDPs, according to government statistics, who fled from areas controlled by the Iran-backed Houthis.
